Note Whisperer records voice notes on your iPhone or Apple Watch, then transcribes them and generates summaries, key points, and Q&A using AI — all powered by your own OpenAI API key. No subscription, no servers, your data stays on your device.

Getting started

Create a free account at platform.openai.com.
Add a small amount of credit under Settings → Billing.
Go to API Keys and create a new secret key.
In Note Whisperer, open Settings → OpenAI API Key, paste the key, and tap Save.
Tap Test Key to confirm it works, then start recording.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost? The app has no subscription. You pay OpenAI directly for API usage — typically a few cents per recording. A few dollars of credit can process hundreds of voice notes.

Is my data private? Yes. Recordings and transcripts stay on your device. Your API key is stored in the secure Keychain. Nothing is sent anywhere until you grant permission in the app: audio and transcripts then go directly from your device to OpenAI, L.L.C. for transcription and analysis, using your own API key. You can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & AI Processing, and we operate no servers and collect nothing. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of what is sent.

Does it work on Apple Watch? Yes — you can record on Apple Watch, and recordings sync to your iPhone for processing.

What languages are supported? The app auto-detects your device language and also lets you choose a specific transcription language in Settings.
